CHINCHERO
Interrupting the tourist dialogue, by dressing in a costume version of my native country South Korea, everyone in the tourist industry of this town took a moment to stop what and who they were to be. And we stepped into another conversation about what I was wearing and how we realized we were all parading in a show. Tourist who were visiting Peru were taking a moment to ask if this was another type of traditional dress but knowing of course something was amiss. By disrupting the landscape while this land has had many culture interjecting their cultures upon it throughout history whether it was religion, language, bloodlines this was a contemporary innocuous play on a deeper research about Peru.
